Return to Entropia and the BIG family.

Due to issues with stuff in real life, I had to sadly take a long break from Entropia Universe and ended up missing out on a lot of the action. One of these was my daily talks with my Big Industries family whom I also host the SSI event for. Though I haven't fixed up everything in my life yet, I felt it was time for me to once again return to the Entropia crowd.

The first thing I did was get back online and reconnect with my BIG family, they welcomed me back with open arms and I was able to hold my first SSI event again on 19th of December 2015. After being out of the game for a while and having missed out on hosting a lot it came as a warm welcome. I was nervous at first but as my fingers began typing on the keyboard...everything just began to feel natural again. I am still rusty but hey at least it was a good event. Lots of folks here on Arkadia joined in and we had a good time.

For those of you who don't know what SSI is...let me give you a brief rundown. SSI stands for sweat support initiative. It's an event designed by BIG industries for newbies to the game. The event lasts for an on weekdays from 21:00 to 22:00 with heal support so you can sweat without worrying about dying. On weekends though, the event begins at 15:00 and ends around 16:00. New players...about 10 of them can sell 1K Vibrant sweat each for 2.5 Peds to the BIG industries representative, in this case the host. They are hosting these events daily on three planets now.

On Calypos, just head on over to BIG OLA42 before the start of the event and get sweating, answer a simple question and you might be one of the folks who gets to sell. Usually there are a lot of people there so it always makes it fun,

On Arkadia, you might want to head on over to 8C Windy Isles if you want to partake in SSI. You will find me on Arkadia on weekends as I have chosen those days to be hosting the event. If not on Saturdays then on Sundays, I will definitely be there.

Next Island is the newest addition to the planets that BIG has expanded to and will hopefully become a great place for new players to also vacation and do some hunting. Shepperds Beach is the location where you might want to drop by during the event time, if you want to sweat or unload some sweat without worry of death.

I am really glad I am part of such a wonderful family. :) Well folks...Christmas is coming up and I hope I might be able to host some wonderful events for people. See you all in game.

15.2.1 Vu Released. Bugs and more bugs squashed.

A few days ago MindArk released another small update for the Entropia Universe to fix a couple of bugs that were plaguing the system ever since the 15.2.0. Below is a list of issues that were fixed and some known issues that are still not fixed.

Issues that were fixed:-
  • Some minor graphical changes were made to the Pet status interface.
  • You can now see what passive buff can be unlocked at what level in the list.
  • You can also see what is required to unlock a certain passive buff for your pet.
  • There was an issue where the player lost focus when hovering the mouse over the creature being tamed. This issue has been fixed now.
  • The new dialog interface buttons now activate on mouse release instead of mouse press.
  • There was an issue where the avatar wasn't relocated to an alternate serve during heavy server load periods. This issue has been fixed as well.
  • Roctropia Panther not spawning on other planets issue has been fixed as well.
  • Fixed an issue which caused incorrect data to be displayed in the Pet status interface.
  • Fixed an issue where the Create Set Action did not offer a label input field.
  • The checkbox label text in the Merge all stacks dialog has been fixed.
  • A bug causing an issue with the Galactic Transport Auction dialog to be blank was fixed as well.
  • The issue causing the "Sexy" and "Restless" emotes to be mislabeled has been corrected.
Known Issues to be fixed:-
  • On random occasions your summoned pet will stay spawned inside the world when you log out. This issue causes you to see double pets when you log back into the game. In order to avoid this issue MindArk has requested players to dismiss their pets before logging out.

Well that was all for this small version update. Lots of bug fixes and hopefully we will see a better performance...in game..

Taming System Updated

On March 17th 2015, Entropia released a new Version Update for their universe...bringing with it massive changes to the taming system. There were also bug fixes and some client changes made. So let us take a look at the new changes brought to us by MindArk.

New Features:-

  • The skill interface gets revamped...we can now see the total amount of Avatar skills as well as the total for each skill category.
  • Improvements were made to the appearances of conversation dialogs as well as confirmation boxes.
  • You can now track your pets status and progress with the newly implemented Pet Status Interface.
  • Animal Essence has been added to the game. Animal Essence is a new resource that can only be obtained by compressing the life energy of a pet. This can only be obtained from tamed creatures and its main use is to unlock new taming system abilities as well as features.
  • The new Pet Center management system allows Stable Owners to select from a variety of buffs to offer their customers. MindArk has stated that the current variety and cost of the buffs can be changed in the future releases for balancing requirements.
  • Pets have a rarity of their own...and you can view these in the pet status window.
  • The last feature for this release is PASSIVE abilities for Pets...Pets can unlock various passive abilities when certain criteria is met. On another note each tamable pet has a different set of unlockable abilities but only one ability can be active at a time.
Changes made:-

  • To avoid confusion with similarly-named taming system effects, two existing Mindforce effects have been renamed. ‘Metabolic Acceleration’ now refers to increased pet food consumption. The avatar run-speed buff is now known simply as ‘Acceleration’. ‘Metabolic Deceleration’ now refers to decreased pet food consumption. The avatar run-speed debuff is now known as ‘Deceleration’.
    • Metabolic Acceleration Chip I has been renamed to Acceleration Chip I. Higher level mindforce chips imparting the Acceleration buff have been renamed similarly.
    • Metabolic Inhibition Chip I has been renamed to Deceleration Chip I. Higher level mindforce chips imparting the Deceleration buff have been renamed similarly.
    • Reimplemented several previously existing avatar emotes, including Vain, Feminine, Masculine, Sporty, Happy, Shy, and others.
    • Client launch has been optimized to reduce startup time.
    • Optimizations have been made to reduce load time of items placed in estates.
    • Death effect now only plays once when an avatar dies.
    • The Voice Chat system has been deactivated for technical reasons. A secondary effect of this change is that the maximum team size will now be 12 for all participants.
    • Based on data obtained from several stress tests performed during the past weeks, optimizations to the platform infrastructure have been implemented, with additional improvements which are planned in the coming releases. Thanks to everyone who assisted in these efforts by participating in the stress test events.
    Bugs fixed:-
    • Fixed an issue causing distance to waypoints to flicker while in space.
    • Fixed an issue preventing pets from being summoned after teleporting.
    • Fixed an issue causing sticky notes to be cleared when the text length limit was exceeded.
With these new changes new business opportunities open up for the players of Entropia universe...and how this will effect the economy..we will just have to wait and see. :-)

    Arkadia Underground Deeds and Webshop

MindArk's most successful planet partner Arkadia recently announced that their Arkadia Underground Deeds will now also be available for purchase from Entropia Universe's web shop. So how does this help?

As you know Arkadia announced that they would be released a total of 200,000 Arkadia Underground Deeds to be sold to players at a price of 50 P.E.Ds per deed last year. It seems since the sales of the deeds in game weren't going as they had planned...the planet partners decided to work closely with MindArk and have the deeds also available to players through their web shop. Players buying the deeds from the web shop sadly won't be able to buy them per piece though. They will be in bundles of 5, 10, 25, and 50. Also as an added bonus the planet partners also decided to give out incentives to those players who will exclusively use the web shop to purchase their Deeds. Below is a list of incentives given according to the bundle and the bundle prices.

    1. Arkadia Underground Deed, 5 Pack - 25 USD
      Materials - Treasure Map 1 (1)
      Materials - Treasure Map 2 (1)

      Materials - Treasure Map 8 (1)
      Materials - Treasure Map 9 (1)
Money and Deeds - Arkadia Underground Deed (100)

Hopefully this new move by Arkadia Planet Partners would help boost sales of the Deeds and allow for the economy on Arkadia to further stabilize. In the past the price of one Arkadia Underground Deed when bought from a player ranged somewhere from 46 to 48 P.E.Ds but the current change has allowed the price to go up to at least 51 P.E.Ds. We will just have to wait and see what new changes this might bring to the game.

Arkadia Event: Enormous Lysterium Deposit Found

Today I had the pleasure of joining a mini event that took place on Arkadia. Apparently it turns out that a huge shipment of Lysterium ore crashed closed to Celeste Harbour area and 5 stacks of Lysterium ore worth 5 peds each went missing. At first when I heard about that I decided to not take part in the search but later on another spacecraft crash landed close to courageous firebase and more lysterium ore debris was scattered all over the place. I decided hey you know I don't owe my allegiance to any one nation why not go around and salvage what I can. So I headed straight for Celeste harbour....after a few tries I managed to come back out with atleast 10 Peds worth of Lysterium ore. The event might have ended but there is another one planned for tomorrow and if you are feeling up to it...then get yourself to Arkadia...join the hunt for more information on the event you can also visit arkadia forums.

A lot of players took part in the event both new and old and it was quite exciting after all who doesn't like the thrill of a treasure hunt. I can't wait for the next event to start tomorrow so I can get myself there and do my best to find as much ore as possible. Maybe I will use it to craft some nice equipment and hopefully might also be able to hit quite a global...haven't really had one so far in the game. Well the post related to the event can be found here...please check it out.

    People's Front of Entropia Universe

It’s been a while since my last blog post…I was running out of things to write about and decided hey there is something for new players that I haven’t really focused on much. Today I will talk about PFEU….PFEU stands for People’s front of Entropia Universe.  In the past they were known as PFC or People’s Calypso front.

PFEU represents a group of players who want to ensure a brighter future for Entropia Universe. They wish to achieve this by ensuring that new players have an enriching experience. But their focus isn’t limited to new players…Entropia is a vast world with ever changing experiences…things that you might have known 2 years ago might not be the same right now so even intermediate players can ask PFEU for support.

How does PFEU achieve this? PFEU in the past used to hold weekly hunt events on Calypso but recently they have expanded their support to 3 weekly hunts on three different planets; Arkadia, Calypso and Rocktropia. An hour before the start of the hunt a shout out is giving in the planets global channel informing player about the event.  You must then visit their website and log onto the chat room provided wait for the registration to open and enter in your full avatar name. After about 30 minutes…the admins will randomly draw six players who will participate in the hunt. What is nice about the hunt is that you get to keep all your loot, PFEU provides you with both the ammos and the weapons needed for the hunt and it is asked of you to follow a series of rules. The rules are simple and are there in order to ensure the best hunting experience for all. For the duration of the hunt there is a healer present who will make sure that you don’t die.

The people behind PFEU are Mercurio Morat and Simone Wauspaus. Mercurio hosts the weekly hunt events on Calypso while Simone takes the initiative on planet Arkadia. If you have any questions you can visit the main PFEU website here, or you can contact them within the game.
